Only a 4 minute drive or a 25 minutes walk from Villa Bartolini there is bakery “Il Pan del Marco” where you can buy the most delicious bread ever but please make sure you do book a bread a day in advance.
Down the road from the bakery you will also find a little supermarket, bar, post office and pharmacy.
For a large superstore “Conad” drive down to Gallicano which takes around 12 minutes.
From Molazzana to Viareggio is around 1.15 h drive where you can find one of the most popular seaside resorts in the northwest of Tuscany with beautiful endlessly long sandy beaches and blue sea.
Drive 20 minutes from Villa Bartolini, up winding roads that lead through chestnut forests and you’ll find the most attractive town in the Garfagnana. Barga is filled with surprises of all sorts, from its narrow squares to the delightful Romanesque Cathedral of Saint Cristoforo. It’s also blessed with magnificent views and a lively music scene.
Drive 15 minutes from Villa Bartolini to Castelnuovo the green heart of the Garfagnana, a lovely town and a useful base if you are spending a relaxing holiday exploring the quiet and relatively undiscovered Garfagnana area of Tuscany. With steep hills, forests, rivers, and quiet, traditional visits to explore. The area is a great place for walkers and cyclists to travel around.
Around 50 minutes drive from Villa Bartolini you will find Lucca which is array of wonderfully intact historical sites makes it a must-see stop on any Tuscan itinerary. The mediaeval city walls still stand—you can hike or bike on top of them. Also visit the Duomo di San Martino and the Roman amphitheatre.
